Dear Friends,
As the year comes to a close, I always like to take a moment to look back on what we’ve accomplished together — and to start thinking about what lies ahead.
Brookville is such a special place, shaped not only by the people who live here, but by the care taken to preserve its character, open spaces and quality of life. That care is evident every day in the generosity, pride, and genuine sense of community I see everyday as your Mayor.
I want to thank our Trustees and the many volunteers who donate their time, talent, and expertise on behalf of the Village. Their willingness to step up and serve, entirely on a pro bono basis, not only strengthens our decision-making, but also helps keep Village operations efficient — saving taxpayers’ money.
As I look forward, planning for the year ahead is already well underway and I’m pleased to report that for the 11th year in a row, we expect no increase in the Village tax rate. Through careful budgeting and the successful pursuit of grants and rebates, we’ve been able to prepare for and invest wisely in important projects while remaining mindful of the impact on you — our residents.
This past year also brought meaningful progress on several long-term initiatives.
We updated the Village’s golf course code to help encourage the preservation of Tam O’Shanter as a golf course and protect one of Brookville’s most important open spaces (see page 3). We also marked an exciting milestone with the symbolic groundbreaking for the new Brookville Municipal Complex in our Nature Park. Once complete, it will provide modern, efficient facilities for our Police Department and Village operations for many years to come. Work will start in 2026.
I encourage you to explore the winter newsletter, which highlights many of the Village’s accomplishments and ongoing milestones. It reflects the thoughtful planning and collaboration that continue to guide us forward.
This marks my 31st year as a resident of Brookville, and it remains an honor to serve a community that values tradition while thoughtfully preparing for what lies ahead.
